I finally gathered the courage to write this down at 4 AM in the morning with no one to distract me from it. The subject is not easy to talk about. But, it’s important. Everyone of us will face death one day so we need to be strong. I have written about Death before. It wasn’t easy then and it isn’t easy now. Yet, I have to write this. It will bring me some closure. Perhaps. Maybe. I am not even sure anymore.
I texted a friend earlier to wish her Happy Birthday. She replied to me instantly. After the wishes were done, she texted “Did you hear about _______”. Before replying, I opened the said person’s Facebook profile to have a look. RIP some wrote. While some wrote, We Miss You. I stared at it for a few seconds. We weren’t close. We had a work relationship roughly 2 years ago. Yet, I missed her. At that very moment I missed her the most. She once patted on my shoulder and told me to go home as it was too late. How can I forget that, how can I forget her smile? She was technically a boss of mine, but she had listened to me with open ears and a kind smile even when I was the one delivering the bad news. I stared for a few more seconds as I recalled all the memories of her.
I gathered my thoughts again and sent a reply back to my friend. We discussed about her kindness and her calmness in tough situations. We both missed her, probably she missed her more. I informed my former colleagues about her sad demise as well. They were equally shocked and sad about it. She was quite young when she passed away. Life has a funny way of throwing lemons at you. Some, apparently are even fatal. Anyone of us could pass away tomorrow and there will be so much left to say and left to do. Life truly can be short and we need to make the most of it.
This is it. This is all I could write. There is only one moral to it. Live a happy life. Make life as happy as you can. It won’t provide opportunities all the time, you have to make it. Good bye, RIP my friend. We all miss you. We all love you.
